→ What is the UKMLA?
The MLA will establish a common standard for safe medical practise in the UK. If you graduate from a UK medical school in the academic year 2025-26 or later, you will be required to take the MLA as part of your degree. It will be a significant step on your path to becoming a doctor.
The MLA will make it easier for patients and employers to trust doctors who are new to the UK, regardless of where they attended school or received their training.
The UKMLA will replace the PLAB exam, and all UK medical students will be required to take it to graduate. If you want to be a doctor in the UK, you should be aware of the UKMLA and how to prepare for it.
The GMC will be able to maintain high standards for UK medical students and ensure they are ready to practise medicine by instituting the UKMLA exam. The UKMLA will also help keep patients safe by ensuring that doctors have the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their duties safely.
→ Who is the UKMLA for?
To practise medicine in the UK, both medical students graduating in the UK and international medical graduates must pass the exam.
→ How Do You Apply To Sit The UKMLA?
For UK medical students, your medical school will assist you in preparing and will send you information on when and where you will take the UKMLA.
You must apply if you are an international medical graduate.
→ Is it easy to learn pathology?
Pathology is a challenging but fascinating subject in medical school. Your pathology knowledge will help you throughout your career and may even save your life one day.
→ How much does the UKMLA cost?
The UKMLA will be free for UK medical graduates and will be part of your regular medical training. It will replace and coexist with portions of your finals.
The GMC has not officially announced the cost of the UKMLA for international medical graduates, but it is likely to be comparable to the PLAB exams.
→ When Should You Start Preparing For The UKMLA?
If you want to practise medicine in the UK, the UKMLA exam is the most important test you will take. It is not something to be taken lightly and necessitates planning and dedication. The sooner you begin UKMLA preparation, the better off you will be in the long run. The more time you have to study, the better prepared you will be on exam day!
→ Where does the tutoring take place?
Our UKMLA courses are specialised for online learning to enable greater flexibility. You will be added to an MS Teams class and our UKMLA tuition includes all the required learning materials.
Do I have to pay for all the 1-1 tutoring in once?
We have flexible instalments plans which allow you to split the payments over several months for your UKMLA tutoring.
Can I have a free tutoring trial?
You certainly can! If you have any doubts about the quality of our instruction, please contact us, and we will set up a trial tutoring lesson for you.
