→What is the IMAT?
The International Medical Admissions Test (IMAT) is an intense 100 minute admissions exam in English for students applying for medicine, dentistry and surgery. The courses that take IMAT tend to be taught in English but there are spaces open to domestic and international applicants.
→ How has IMAT 2025 changed?
Last year was the first year that CAAT were not responsible for overseeing the IMAT exam. Not much has changed but there were some changes. Most notably, the section previous known as 'General Knowledge' is now called 'Reading Skills & Knowledge Acquired During Studies'. This incorporates general knowledge and includes questions to test your reading skills. There is an emphasis on Biology (last year's IMAT test had 23 biology questions). Our IMAT course has been updated to reflect these changes.
→What do IMAT courses cover?
IMAT courses typically cover the four sections of the IMAT exam, including logical reasoning, reading skills & knowledge acquired during studies, biology, chemistry, physics, and maths. The courses may also provide tips and strategies for time management, test-taking, and essay writing.
→How is the IMAT Scored?
You get 1.5 points for a correct answer, 0 points for no answer but importantly -1.5 if you get a question wrong! You have 100 minutes to complete the exam
→How many questions are in the IMAT?
You will have 60 questions in the IMAT. These are all multiple choice and there are a mixture of the question types. Based on last year's IMAT exam, there were 5 logical reasoning (critical thinking and problem-solving) questions, 4 reading skills & knowledge acquired during studies questions (3 general knowledge and 1 reading skills, 23 biology questions, 15 chemistry questions, 5 physics questions and 7 maths questions.
→Who are the IMAT coaches?
