Students will get the opportunity to participate in some of the most unique experiences in the field of dentistry, such as drilling teeth and making impressions on mannequin heads. They will also be able to observe and assist dentists in an actual dental clinic, and gather dental histories from real patients.

Are you a student who dreams of a career in dentistry? Looking for a way to gain an edge over other applicants and stand out in a highly competitive field? During the program, you will have the chance to participate in hands-on experiences that few others have access to. You'll get to drill teeth and take impressions on phantom heads, shadow experienced dentists in a real dental clinic, and even take patient histories from actual patients.

You'll have the chance to speak directly with dentists from a variety of specialties.Whether you're interested in pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, you'll have the chance to learn directly from experienced practitioners.

Dental Practice Day
You'll learn about dental anatomy, disease and treatment, build your manual dexterity by practicing giving fillings and making dental impressions.
Perfect your personal statement
Together we can begin your medical application, and work on planning your timeline for the next year, including writing your Personal Statement, choosing medical schools and preparing for interviews.
Prepare for the interview
The dentistry interview can be very competitive, especially with the MMI component. We'll go through Dos and Don'ts of the MMI and also do a mock circuit!
It was incredible and provided invaluable first-hand experience in the field. The highlight for me was learning how to suture, a vital skill for any dental surgeon. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to gain real-world insight into dentistry and develop manual dexterity.

→ What is not included in the course fee?
– Oyster travel card – approximately £45 (plus £5 for refundable card)

We believe financial income should not be a barrier so 25% of our places will be given to students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds for absolutely free. If you feel you may be eligible, kindly email [email protected] with the subject "Work Experience Bursary" with evidence attached. Please note, we will not be able to provide accomodation.
→ Do I have to live in the UK to do this?
Absolutely not! 70% of our students are international and live overseas. We arrange pick up from Heathrow airport to the accomodation and one of the Dentist Mind team will meet you and also drop you back to your departure terminal if needed.
→ What is the accomodation like and where will I be staying?
You will be staying at UCL Accomodation where breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided. You will stay here from Sunday night (day before the course) as well as the last day of the course (Friday) so in total 6 nights. There is 24/7 security and Dentist Mind staff who are first aid and safeguarding trained will be on site to assist. We can also arrange airport pick up for you.
→ For meals, do you deal with dietary requirements?
Yes, a lot of our students are overseas and have requirements such as being vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, halal and more. We will ensure to make the necessary adjustments to your meals.
→ I have a health condition, can I still join?
Absolutely, prior to attending the week, we kindly request that you inform us of any health conditions you may have so that we can take necessary precautions beforehand. → Who will be looking after my child?
At all times, your child will be supported by our Dentist Mind staff who are DBS enhanced and have full first aid and safeguarding training. We will always have a female member of staff on-site and on our accomodation. Students will be given a 24 hour emergency number which they can contact at any time and can be passed onto parents and guardians if needed.
→How many days does the Dentistry Work Experience 2024 run for?
The summer school runs for 5 days. Each day begins at 9am and will end around 3.30pm, however an exact timetable will be sent to you beforehand. If you are staying with us at UCL Halls, we will arrange activities in the evening like movie night, bowling and more!
→ Do I need to pay up front?
We know the current economic situation makes it difficult to pay up front. We offer interest free instalments for 3, 6 and 12 months but require a non-refundable deposit of £500.
→ Do I need to book Dentist Mind's accomodation?
No, you do not need to book our accomodation - You can either commute or book your own if needed. The advantage of booking ours is that you will be looked after by our team and reside with other students on the work experience programme.
→ Will Dentist Mind provide certificates for the week?
Absolutely. All students will be given a physical certificate to evidence their participation in the course which will be important for their UCAS application as many universities will ask for proof.
→Can international students join this Dentistry Summer School 2024?
Yes, certainly! We have many international students who attend our Dentistry Summer Schools, and we offer Dentistry summer schools for students from all countries. In the past we have had students from Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Dubai, UAE, Canada, USA, India and Ireland.
