In this simulated ward environment, you will be immersed in the life of hospital doctors, treating patients. Practical skills include diagnosing patients, cardiac arrests and taking blood.
This practical day consists of learning how to perform basic life support and treat trauma patients, including hands-on experience of suturing
Have the opportunity to ask questions and gain expert advice and tips on taking the UCAT.
With support through every step of your medical application, you'll get top tips and expert advice on how to write an outstanding medical application and personal statement. We'll also share experiences and advice on the medical interview process

This 5-day immersive work experience programme will take place in various medical settings within central Birmingham. You will be supervised by lead clinicians and nurses while you experience different scenarios such as an A&E simulation with trauma patients, learn to suture, read x-rays and take part in clinical observations. Our Medic Mind team are also on-hand to support you through your medical application, with tips and advice on the UCAT, personal statement and MMIs.
Accommodation is available for the week in a central Birmingham hotel, with security and CCTV for safety. Our Medic Mind team will be on-hand 24/7 to support students during their stay. Our staff are all safeguarding and first-aid trained and have DBS checks. Food is provided for breakfast and dinner and we cater for all dietary requirements.
