8About Me
Hi there!
My name is Nahbi and I am a 3rd year Medical student at Cardiff University. Though I’m of Nigerian descent, I’ve always been a city boy having grown up in Leicester. I studied at the grammar school in Leicester where I took maths, chemistry, biology and philosophy at A-level and in the second year of this course, I was the head boy at the school.
As well as Cardiff, I applied to three other city based Medical schools: Manchester, Birmingham and Sheffield. I secured offers from all these universities but ultimately chose Cardiff as I believe the spiral course structure taught in Cardiff suits me best. Whilst not studying, I spend a lot of time training for athletics and I compete for my university in the horizontal jumps.
I am quite a gregarious character and love meeting new people. I like to take a very positive, light-hearted approach to life and am always eager to discover new ways have fun. I also love learning new things and continuously look for ways to improve the way I learn which is something I am looking forward to share!
My teaching style
I like a to use an inquiry based approach. This is where problem solving is at the heart of the learning. The helps students to really consolidate knowledge they have and recognise the gaps the have as everything they learn will applied to problems they need to solve. This approach also allows plenty of room for asking and answering the necessary questions to build the strong foundation needed to solve the problems.
My past experience
I have over 90 hours experience tutoring with medic mind. This includes medicine interviews, with successful applicants from a variety of universities. I also have UCAT tutoring experience.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements so far would be my A-level grades in which I achieved 4 A*s. I did whilst still competing in high level sport showing my effective time management during these years.
