Hi, I’m Mishita Khiara! I was born and raised in Dubai, UAE, and moved to the UK to study Biomedical Sciences at the University of Southampton, graduating with a 2:1.
Before university, I completed my schooling in July 2022, achieving A*AA at A-Level in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, subjects I loved then and still enjoy helping others navigate now.
I consider myself an adaptable, quick learner who thrives on gaining real-world insight, and I’m always looking to build on my experience while strengthening my communication skills. I’m able to build productive, effective relationships quickly through clear communication and instruction, and I stay self-motivated and focused on completing every task efficiently.
Tutoring is something I’m genuinely excited about, I want to pass on the skills and knowledge I’ve built up over the years to students who need them, and I find that in the process, I usually learn something new myself. I particularly enjoy the moments in a session where knowledge-sharing turns into a real conversation, those exchanges tend to be the most enlightening and useful for both sides.
I’m looking forward to our sessions together, not just as a chance to revisit and sharpen the basics, but as an opportunity to genuinely make a difference in someone else’s exam preparation and confidence.
My teaching style centers on making sure I fully understand a concept myself before passing it on, I first develop a solid grasp of the topic, then break it down clearly for the student. After my explanation, I like to check understanding by asking the student to explain back what they’ve learned in their own words. From there, we move into a self-practice exercise with targeted questions on the topic.
Once I’ve assessed how they’ve done, I identify the specific areas they found challenging and go back over those in more depth. This approach builds focus while making sure no doubts are left unresolved.
I also believe teaching should be engaging, not one-directional, I actively encourage cross-questioning throughout our sessions, so students feel comfortable challenging ideas, asking “why,” and digging deeper rather than just absorbing information passively.
