4About Me
Hi! I am a current fourth year medical student and have previously completed a degree in Neuroscience prior to starting medical school. I have extensive experience in tutoring students for exams and languages, but also for medical school interviews, particularly MMIs. I am very passionate about teaching and helping students achieve their goals. Interviews can be challenging and nerve wracking, but I hope to be a great mentor and guide students through the process.
I have been very fortunate to work in learning environments both privately and within schools. I have also had the privilege of teaching a wide age range, which I believe has made my communication style very adaptive and accommodating for students I have tutored previously. In my past experiences as a tutor for interviews, I have found that everyone has different ways of answering various questions, and being able to learn from a vast range of enthusiastic students has been very enjoyable.
My teaching style
I have greatly enjoyed talking through positives and negatives of experiences – whether it be practice tests or practice interview answers, and build up on what to do next time together. I believe it is greatly useful for students to understand what their best qualities are and have someone help in how best to showcase them.
My past experience
I have tutored now for almost over 8 years, and it has been something I have always sought out as I really find it to be a rewarding and equally challenging experience.
I have since starting medical school been able to help with student’s personal statements for medical schools, tailoring their sentences to showcase their achievements. These students have now gone on to greatly enjoy their time at medical school and it has been a privilege to have played a role in their journey towards medical school! I have also been able to tutor aspiring medical students with upcoming panel and MMI interviews. I have been able to provide a safe space for many students to practice their answers and build their confidence for the real thing!
On top of the above, since starting medical school, I have been quite passionate about medical education and have been able to take part, lead and organise many sessions for my peers and senior students (teaching sessions, clinical workshops and OSCE sessions). For OSCEs particularly, I have been able to write, examine and be an actor for mock OSCE practice sessions.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements outside academics, has genuinely been having the opportunity to help kids in their learning, I have found it to be greatly rewarding and is something I am looking to integrate into my medical career.
