→ What is not included in the fee for the young vet programme?
– Public transport expenses
– Optional evening activities such as cinema, bowling - approximately £50 in total

→ What is the cancellation policy?
The young vet experience week is non-refundable once booked. This is because we have to plan for all logistics including accommodation bookings, room bookings and more. If you are unsure whether you can attend but don't want to lose your spot, you can pay a non-refundable deposit of £500 to secure your place. The remaining payment will be due before the start of the course.
→ Where does the young vet experience take place?
All the settings (including the accommodation) take place in either Central London, Birmingham or Manchester. Throughout the placements, you will be working with experienced professionals so get ready with all your questions to ask them on young vet experience!
→ Do I have to live in the UK to do this?
Absolutely not! 70% of our students are international and live overseas. We arrange pick up from the airport to the accommodation and one of the Medic Mind team will meet you and also drop you back to your departure terminal if needed.
→ Will my child have to travel between sites alone?
Safety is paramount to our young vet Experience week. Your child will always be accompanied by the Medic Mind Safeguarding team for any travel needed. There will be a short trip on public transport to and from the accommodation and to the to the hospitals/hospice but this will be fully accompanied.
→ Is accommodation included in the price?
If you require accommodation for the young vet experience, it is available at an extra cost. The accommodation is always a short trip away from the medical settings where you will be doing your work experience.
→ How do I apply for a visa?
Students coming to the UK for the young vet Experience will need a Standard Visitor visa- https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor
The Standard Visitor visa can only be applied for by parents/guardians and costs £100. They must apply through the UK Gov website only, You can name our course and Medic Mind as the guardians of under 18s, and provide then the course information and booking confirmation when applying for the visa.
We recommend booking flights first before applying for the visa, as the visa needs proof of a return flight (the course end date might be enough, but might result in rejection).

→ I have a health condition, can I still join?
Absolutely! Prior to attending the week, we kindly request that you inform us of any health conditions you may have so that we can take necessary precautions beforehand. → Who will be looking after my child?
At all times, your child will be supported by our Medic Mind staff who are DBS enhanced and have full first aid and safeguarding training. We will always have a female member of staff on-site and at our accomodation. Students will be given a 24-hour emergency number which they can contact at any time and can be passed on to parents and guardians if needed.
→How many days does the young vet experience run for?
The young vet experience runs for 5 days. Each day begins at 9am and will end around 3pm, however an exact timetable will be sent to you beforehand. If you are staying with us at the accommodation provided, we will arrange activities in the evening like movie night, bowling and more!
→ Do I need to pay for the young vet experience up front?
We know the current economic situation makes it difficult to pay up front. We offer interest free instalments for 3-6 months but require a non-refundable deposit of £500. We also offer a bursary scheme; contact us for more details!
→ Do I need to book Medic Mind's accomodation?
No, you do not need to book our accommodation - You can either commute or book your own if needed. The advantage of booking ours is that you will be looked after by our team and reside with other students on the young vet programme.
→Can international students join this young vet experience program?
Yes, certainly! We have many international students who attend our young vet experience program, and we offer young vet experience program for students from all countries.
→Which online resources do you provide with the young vet experience program?
Alongside the young vet experience, you will receive access to our UCAT Online Course, BMAT Online Course, Interview Online Course, Personal Statement Portal, A-level Biology Online Course, A-level Chemistry Online Course. These courses include question banks and video tutorials - for example, for UCAT we include 4000 questions, 5 books and 100+ video tutorials.
