I am a fourth-year medical student at Sapienza University of Rome with a strong academic foundation and a growing focus on translational medicine, particularly within the field of lipid metabolism disorders. My current research explores the genetic and metabolic mechanisms underlying conditions such as familial hypercholesterolemia and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), with an emphasis on understanding how molecular insights can inform clinical practice. Alongside this, I have developed a broader interest in precision medicine and the application of individualized approaches to disease prevention and treatment.
Through my academic and research experiences, I have gained exposure to both laboratory-based investigation and clinically relevant problem-solving, which has strengthened my motivation to bridge the gap between research and patient care. In addition to my research work, I am actively involved in medical education, working as a tutor and mentor to support students in mastering complex scientific concepts and preparing for competitive examinations such as the IMAT. I value structured, evidence-based learning and aim to foster critical thinking, clarity, and confidence in those I teach, while continuing to develop my own skills as both a clinician and researcher.
My teaching style is structured, repetitive, and highly tailored to IMAT preparation. I emphasize reinforcing core concepts through active recall, spaced repetition, and exam-style questions. Lessons are adapted to each studentโs level, focusing on clarity, problem-solving strategies, and building confidence under timed conditions.
Yes, I am currently tutoring four private students for the IMAT, focusing on subjects such as biology, chemistry, and logical reasoning. In addition, I am working as a student tutor at my university in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, where I support students in understanding complex concepts and preparing for exams.
One of my proudest achievements is having my research accepted for presentation at the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) Congress, a leading international conference in lipidology, which I will be presenting at in May. This opportunity reflects my engagement in research and my growing interest in lipid metabolism and cardiovascular disease.
