Admissions Requirements

Admission to the School of Medicine is competitive, and applicants must meet certain requirements to be considered. Prospective students must have completed secondary school and passed the university entrance exam (Esame di Stato). The university also requires a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 8.0 out of 10.0. In addition, applicants must pass an entrance exam, which consists of a written test and an oral interview.

English language proficiency is mandatory for all students. Non-native English speakers can demonstrate proficiency by passing the entrance exam (IMAT) in English, which is equivalent to a B2 level on the Common European Framework of Languages. This level is comparable to achieving a score of 5.5 on the IELTS or a grade C on the Cambridge First exam.

For graduate students, the university offers a graduate pathway programme for students who hold a degree in a related field, such as biology or chemistry. The graduate pathway programme is a two-year programme that prepares students for the Medicine and Surgery programme.
