The University of Targu Mures Medical Campus Hamburg (UMCH) is a private medical university located in Hamburg, Germany. The university was established in 2018 and offers English-taught medical programmes in collaboration with the University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences and Technology of Targu Mures in Romania. UMCH is accredited by the State Ministry of Science, Research and Equalities Hamburg and the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation.
Medical Programmes Offered
UMCH offers a six-year medical programme, which leads to a degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD). The programme is taught in English and follows the European Union’s Bologna Process. UMCH offers modern and well-equipped facilities, including a simulation centre, anatomy labs, and a library.
Admissions Requirements
To be eligible for admission to UMCH, applicants must hold a high school diploma or equivalent qualification. Applicants must have completed their pre-medical studies, which include Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with a minimum grade of C. Applicants can also have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
UMCH also offers a graduate entry programme for students who have completed a bachelor’s degree in a related field. To be eligible for the graduate entry programme, applicants must have completed courses in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at the undergraduate level.
In addition, applicants must take an interview as part of the admissions process. The interview assesses the applicant’s motivation, communication skills, and English proficiency.
