As a deeply caring professional I believe in providing every person with the highest standards of treatment, whilst looking after them with humility and kindness, placing them at the heart of their clinical care. Patient trust is the utmost privilege.
Much of my career has been spent in general dental practice as a joint principal within NHS and Private settings. My approach is inclusive and people-focused, rooted in a desire to lead, influence and support. Skills and knowledge only produce truly successful outcomes, when coupled with a deep-seated wish to be approachable, understanding and communicative. We are working with, and treating, individuals, each with unique needs and contributions. Due to the strict regulatory nature of healthcare within the U.K. I have become adept at understanding compliance, its purpose and integration within a human facing environment. Alongside my passion for clinical dentistry, I have always researched, listened and collaborated, embracing agility to ensure business decisions, strategies, and the whole team flourish.
My clinical career ended abruptly in May 2024, following a spontaneous and unexpected retinal detachment. Surgery was sadly unsuccessful, and I lost eyesight in my left eye. Many of my patients wrote to me, and their generosity was of great comfort, inspiring me to focus on the bedrock of my career – their care and our relationship. I would love an opportunity to share with , potential clinicians and younger clinicians my culture of care, the lessons I have learned in my career’s journey and the huge impact nurturing rapport, empathy and compassion, has for our patients.
