Hi there! my name’s Paolo and I’m currently a 4th year medical student at the University of Newcastle, Australia.
I’ve also got two previous university degrees, with a Bachelor of Science in Immunobiology from the University of Sydney, and a Masters in Communication from Griffith University.
Before starting medicine, I also worked in medical administration and marketing communications for 6 years.
In my spare time, I’ve taught clinical skills to junior medical students and I’m also an avid photographer and hiker and I dabble in video editing and music production.
I’m also proud to say that I’m a mature-aged student and I’m from a rural background as well, spending all of primary school and some of high school in regional Victoria.
My journey up to this point has taught me the importance of not just having a strong knowledge base in the arts and sciences to pass exams like GAMSAT but also how to use skills in those fields as well as knowledge of your interests and life experiences to give a polished but natural performance in your interviews.
I also have a current paid working with children check and an Australian National Police check available on request.
As a tutor, I like to guide my students through questions and strategies for tackling difficult exam questions and interview strategies in a stepwise manner.
That way, I can make sure that not only are your unique needs met, but most importantly that at the end of the day, you will be confident and ready to tackle the GAMSAT and your interview on the day.
I’ve done some voluntary teaching of clinical skills to more junior medical students in the past, and I’ve also taught staff how to use digital marketing tools like Facebook and Google Ads managers to manage online advertisements in my previous work.
