Hi I’m Lisa from Northern Ireland!
I’m very excited to be starting my first year of Graduate Entry Medicine at Swansea University in September 2021. I have a previous degree in Neurophysiology where I consistently obtained top marks in my year group with commendation from the Vice-Chancellor and an overall achievement of First Class Honours. I am currently working as a Senior Clinical Neurophysiologist in the NHS with extensive hospital, theatre and patient experience… not to mention the joys of working in a pandemic!!
I’ve sat the GAMSAT and UCAT and received interviews for GEM courses around the UK. I decided to take up my offer for Swansea’s Graduate Entry Medicine programme this September 2021. My interview for Swansea was pre pandemic but the same principles apply now.. only over Zoom!
Online. Self directed learning on core topics with prompting and tutorials from myself and online resources. This is then followed by past paper questions with myself and opportunity to ask for support about topics which you may be struggling with or need more practice. I have excellent notes and timetable to follow for performing the GAMSAT exam with all sections incorporated.
Clinical mostly with academic teaching 1-on-1 and small groups.
Getting into medical school! Yay!
I’m very proud of how far I have come in my journey so far to becoming a doctor. As I am currently a clinical scientist in the NHS, this has been my motivation to “level up” and do more for my patients and me.
