Hello future medics! My name is Sara Mahmud, a second year medical student.
I have more than 4 years of tutoring experience, helping students boost their grades and becoming more confident in their studies to efficiently direct their learning.
My approach is entirely focused on how my student understands and progresses in and out of my lessons. Whether it be teaching subjects or interview practice, I promote my students to actively explore the steps in finding the answer through clear and detailed guidance.
As well as a tutor, my life-experience as a student allows me to tailor my lessons for optimal learning as I understand how overwhelming studying A-levels is. I help my students break down content into information that they will understand while emphasising key words so that when the exam comes, they will know how to apply their knowledge.
Furthermore, I have experience in scientific research, editing graduate work and writing.
I structure my lessons with the student’s specification as a rule of thumb, making sure that everything is covered during the lesson to ensure there are no gaps in their knowledge.
I like teaching by illustrating content which makes it easier for students to follow on. For GCSEs and A-levels I believe exam practice is the key to success so, during lessons I try to incorporate some exam questions to stimulate your learning and exam practice.
Every person learns a different way, so I am very versatile with my teaching methods in order to suit my student’s preferred style of learning!
