I am a third-year veterinary student at the Royal Veterinary College, University of London. My family has been adopting animals since I was young so I developed a passion to help them. My main interest is in mixed animal practices so I am currently aiming to achieve working with them by understanding them better either through my studies and placements. Other than maintaining an excellent academic record throughout high school, I worked with a range of animals. This includes companions, farm and animals and wildlife. These experiences got me offers from several AVMA-accredited veterinary institutions. I decided on the Royal Veterinary College in London and came to the UK as an international student in 2020. Arriving here during the pandemic was difficult but I believe that the situation also it made be a better student to my school and mentor to some others as I became even more capable of adapting to different situations and was able to use my critical thinking skills in challenging times. I am looking forward to share my unique experiences with aspiring students to help them get to their goals.
My teaching style is more of a question-and-answer type. Instead of simply giving student the answers directly, I prefer to give them some prompts to help them think. This encourages them to critically-think for themselves and solve problems on their own, which I think are both imperative in university interviews.
The proudest achievement is getting into all the veterinary schools that I applied to as it was a reward that my hard work has paid off and I am one step closer into working with animals that I always wanted to help.
