Hi, thanks for checking out my profile. I’m Adan and I’m studying medicine at the University of York. I remember feeling overwhelmed and anxious when applying to medicine, but after successfully going through the process I believe I can pass on knowledge to other students through teaching to help you feel more confident and motivated about achieving your goals. I look forward to tracking the progress of students and watching them improve.
As someone with no medics in the family, i appreciate how having someone with experience to guide you through the process can be very beneficial. I received three interviews and three offers from Hull York, Leicester and Keele medical schools, with a mix of in person, online and semi-structured interviews. I understand how stressful interviews and A levels can be but hope that with my support, the process becomes much smoother to give you the confidence and skills you need to secure your place in med school.

My teaching style
I’m dedicated to help you achieve the best you possibly can. My teaching style is relaxed and interactive as the journey to getting into medicine is already a stressful process, and it’s important for me to guide you towards achieving your goals without adding onto this pressure. One of the most important aspects of the session is practice. I believe getting in as much practice as you can get in the sessions will be most beneficial to help you understand and target your weaknesses to improve. I plan to center sessions around improving on specific topics or goals the student wants to achieve and getting enough guidance and practice to build on your skills.
My past experience
I’ve mentored a GCSE student for 2 academic years.
My Proudest Achievements
One of my proudest achievements is being the first student in my school to complete their EPQ in year 12 and achieved an A*, and I’ve also written an article that was published in an International youth neuroscience journal!
