About Me

Hi, my name is Audrey and I’m currently a fifth year medical student from the University of East Anglia. My main strength is helping students navigate their medical school application journey, especially when it comes to interview preparation. Having been through multiple interview formats, and helping other prospective medics prepare, I’ve found that every applicant has a way of making themselves stand out to examiners. I’m a big believer in the idea that the same story can be told in a hundred different ways, and it’s this motto that enables me to help students promote themselves and unlock the potential they didn’t know they had. With me as your tutor, I’ll be discussing interview topics in depth and putting you under timed pressure to give you a realistic interview experience with multiple question types. A similar approach can be adopted for Veterinary Medicine and Dentistry interviews as all 3 interviews require a logical mind and a sound knowledge of ethics.

Additionally, I’m able to help with other admission tests, e.g. IELTS (my overall score was 8), TOEFL, which are required by many universities; as well as GCSE Chemistry and English (where I scored A* for both).

My teaching style

For interview preparation, my teaching style mainly focuses on teaching students how to structure their responses effectively. It’s not enough to have the knowledge, but knowing how to express it as well as structuring a logical and persuasive argument. Communication is absolutely vital in a high-pressured environment that you’ll come across in your interview.

For IELTS and TOEFL, I aim to ensure that students have a good mastery of the English language in order to pass those exams. These exams each have unique requirements beyond good vocabulary and grammar. I will be encourage oral discussion of topics in order for students to practice comprehension and speech.

For GCSE subjects, I will focus on past paper question practice and tailoring my teaching to your respective exam syllabus.

For all subjects that I teach, timed pressure is key to simulate the exam/interview that students will be in, and I will be honing in on this aspect to ensure students performance to the best of their ability.

My past experience

I have worked with my university to tutor aspiring medics from secondary schools and acted as a mentor in the medical school application process. This role focused more on providing guidance and advice rather than interview coaching, and gave prospective medics a source of support whenever they had questions about studying medicine or the application process in general. I helped mentor 2 students from underprivileged backgrounds in Norwich through an online platform called Brightside, where communication was monitored by by my university. I took on this role for 2 years.

I have also tutored secondary school pupils in English, mainly focusing on speaking. The speech component of an English exam is often the most challenging, especially if English is not your mother tongue. This allowed them to practice communicating and structuring their ideas in order to form a coherent argument.
