8About Me
Hello! My names Olivia, and I’m almost a qualified doctor, being currently in my 5th and final year of graduate entry medicine at the University of Liverpool. I have 2 prior degrees that I completed beforehand, a BSc in Biomedical Science followed by a Masters of Research degree in Translational Medicine. I’m a huge advocate for helping other prospective students reach their dreams of medical school, whether that is GAMSAT, personal statement. interview/MMI or other general queries. It took me two cycles to get into medicine, so I understand how difficult it is at times, and am therefore keen to pass on my experienced knowledge of the process to help others!
I’m also keen to help students with GCSE or A level science and English too, having done both myself to a high level (8 A* and 2A’s at GCSE and AAB at A level). Please feel free to drop me a message if you have any questions at all, or wish to start tutoring with me!
My teaching style
I like to adapt my style depending on how the student works best. I like to make my sessions as interactive as possible, ensuring we are going at a suitable pace and the student understands everything we are covering along the way. I like to have a fun mix of interactive games (such as Kahoot, which is great!) and working through some examples and questions together, past papers, and also getting the student to be independent and critically think for themselves with my support.
I believe my lessons should be super informative and develop the students capabilities whilst also maintaining some fun and enthusiasm along the way!
My past experience
Yes, I have had years of prior experience teaching GCSE Science through a charity, the Tutor Trust, where I worked in deprived areas of Liverpool. I also run my own Instagram account dedicated to helping those applying for medicine and needing help or advice.
My Proudest Achievements
I would have to say getting into medical school after a very long, convoluted route! It took me two prior degrees and a lot of set backs but I’m hugely grateful to be here now and be able to help others, and be 8 months off qualifying as a doctor.
