6About Me
Hi, I’m Emma and I am in my fourth year of dentistry at Cardiff University. I have mentored people for dentistry interviews and UCAT through my old sixth form of several years and was an assessor on the MMI interviews last year. I know how daunting the whole process can feel and understand how valuable any advice and support can be when applying to this course. I am keen to help people and answer any questions they have about the application process but also university as a whole. I am also an approachable, friendly person that is always up for a chat, and welcome questions and helping people through this process.
I also really see the importance of having fun alongside your studies and I am an active member of the Dancesport Society and have been for three years now. It is important to have these extra-curricular activities, not only to support your application but also to help you with a work-life balance at uni.
My teaching style
I start off by asking if you have any specific questions you wanted to ask first, and what your expectations are from a session with me. I will then aim to answer these questions and endeavour to make the session meet your expectations as much as possible. I am also very happy for people to interject with questions and am an approachable teacher.
My past experience
I have tutored individually for friends and through my old sixth form, mainly with personal statement writing, MMI advice and practice and UCAT as well.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements would include getting my four offers for dental school as I had put so much effort into the process, I was proud of how far I had made it. Outside of applying to dentistry, I placed fourth in a national ballroom dancing competition 2 years ago and have made so many friends through this at uni.
