10About Me
Qualified Pharmacist with over 7 years teaching experience ranging from GCSE tutoring to teaching languages to adults.
Currently undertaking Medicine (MBChB) degree at Aberdeen University. Completed A-Levels at King Edward VI Five Ways Grammar School, then moving on to study MPharm at UEA School of Pharmacy (Norwich). Completed my Pharmacist training year in Hospital and GP before applying for Med School; receiving 3/4 offers.
Wide range of expereince teaching subjects from Science, Maths and Religious Studies at GCSE level and beyond. Helped run the 11+ Admission Tests for the King Edward VI Foundation in Birmingham while also teaching Numeracy and Literacy in Primary Schools.
During UG taught languages and GCSE tutoring to help students during the Covid Pandemic. I have since continued to teach at GCSE level on a private bases while also taking on teaching of Pharmacy students and Trainee Pharmacists to help in the MPharm and the GPhC exam.
My teaching style
With a wide range of teaching experience I have a rather adaptable and versatile teaching style. I have had the opportunity to teach mixed abilities and ages in a range of subjects.
I am able to adapt communication to accomodate for those who do not speak English as a first language by utilising my other languages such as Arabic and Swedish. My only requirement is the student put effort into the work and complete tasks set to them during the sessions to allow maximum utilisation of the short time together.
My past experience
I first started teaching Primary School during my GCSEs and A-Levels focusing on helping struggling students and giving students 1-to-1 suopport in Numeracy and Literacy skills.
When I started my Mpharm at Uni I began to teach KS3 and GCSE students basic Science, Maths, English, Religious Studies and Arabic. I also began to teach adults Arabic in evening classes in the local community centre. I continued this after graduating but also began to teach MPharm students towards the end of my degree through the uni’s buddy system.
After qualifying as a pharmacist I began to also teach MPharm graduates how to pass the GPhC exam while continuing to teach GCSE and A-Levels as I did before.
My Proudest Achievements
Qualifying as a pharmacist; my GPhC exam only had 56% of Trainees pass the test so I was proud to be of them.
I also designed an Arabic and Religious Studies KS3 syllabus with 2 other teachers to help prepare students for GCSEs.
