10About Me
Hello!
My name is Flourish and I am a Third-year medical student studying at Kings College London. It is my hope that all of my students would become the most confident and best version of themselves academically and feel passionate about learning. I love the balance between the science and social aspect of medicine and aim to help students on their journey towards their dream careers through UCAT, Interview, or GCSE/A-level tutoring sessions. Having ranked in the top 20% in the UCAT, I am familiar with the techniques and tactics needed to score highly, therefore putting you in a better position to succeed in your medicine application. Crafting an excellent personal statement is vital and my experience in a personal statement reviewing and writing my own outstanding personal statement has given me the skills to help students write their own excellent personal statement. Having successfully completed GCSEs and achieving A*A* A* in A-level biology chemistry and Psychology, I have been able to gain a wide understanding of the syllabus and ascertain the revision and exam strategies needed to thrive in these subjects and beyond.

My teaching style
I utilise several different teaching strategies to achieve the best result for my tutees. My demonstrative approach to teaching focuses on increasing the students’ engagement by providing them practical knowledge of concepts and theories using interactive teaching by demonstrating through activities, digital media presentations, and analogies. My teaching style is very flexible and adaptable as I tailor my teaching to and shape the curriculum around the unique needs of all students. I also give students tips to help them boost the effectiveness of their studying outside of lessons and give them reflective questions to encourage students to learn and reflect on the topics outside the classroom.
My past experience
I am currently working as a mentor for Afro Caribbean Medical Mentors (ACMM), which aims to help students of African and Caribbean descent gain entry into medical and dental school. As a mentor, I help coach students through the entire medical school application process. I have tutored students in maths and other subjects at both GCSE and A-level. My students have made notable improvements after each tutoring session with me.
My Proudest Achievements
One of my proudest achievements is watching the students I have tutored make huge improvements in both their confidence in answering questions and in their grades. Another one of my proudest achievements successfully completing the medicine application process and thriving academically in my GCSEs and A-levels.
