10About Me
Hi I’m Grace and I’m a third year dental student at Cardiff University. I’m an enthusiastic and outgoing tutor who will give 110% effort to help you achieve the top marks you deserve !
My approach to tutoring focuses on engagement and active recall. I have developed this personalised method of tutoring from over 7 years of tutoring experience for Biology,Chemistry,Physics, Mathematics, French,11+, UCAT and Dentistry Interviews. I understand that certain students may be feeling anxious and overwhelmed with the pressures that education requires as I have experienced them myself so I will always take a compassionate approach.
When it comes to tutoring, having somebody who has had the same experience as you helps as they can emphasise with you through the ups and downs and help motivate you through these. The road to success is never linear but you’ll get to where you want to go.
My teaching style
My teaching style focuses on getting the student heavily involved through active recall and questions instead of just talking at them. This will help them firmly integrate the information into their memory and engage more with the content – ultimately learning more and enjoying it more ! In order to build this confidence, I make sure we work through questions together to get to grips with the feel for the question. I always make sure to go the extra mile with my tutees by providing them verbal and written feedback after every session. I also provide them with lots of different resources to further their learning which we can then discuss during the sessions or outside of timetabled hours.
My past experience
I have been tutoring for 7 years. My tutoring journey began when I tutored GCSE Maths and 11+ to children from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Since then, I have expanded my tutoring by tutoring GCSE and A-Level Maths, Biology,Chemistry,Physics and French. I also have an interest in dentistry interviews. I am an experienced tutor here and have a very high success rate when it comes to getting students to where they want to be and I hope I can do the same for you !
