6About Me
Hi, my name is Marc and I’m a medical student from Scotland. I’m currently at the end of second year of a graduate-entry, 4-year medical degree at Dundee. Before medical school I obtained a first-class master’s degree in Physics from Glasgow University. I’ve always enjoyed tutoring because I love seeing my students achieve their goals, whether it’s an exam grade or a place at university. I’d be delighted to support you in obtaining that all-important place at medical school.
With my science background, I would be particularly suited to provide tuition for paper 3 of the GAMSAT exam. However, I also achieved good test scores in papers 1 and 2 of the GAMSAT, as well as the UCAT exam, and so I’d be happy to tutor for any of them. I would also be happy to provide interview coaching to help you get past that last hurdle to a place in medical school.
UCAT
I also tutor for the UCAT and UCATSEN tests. I scored over 700 in all sections when I sat the UCAT and over 800 in the Quantitative Reasoning section.
My teaching style
My priority when tutoring is to work out what your learning style is and tailor our lessons appropriately. For example, if you’re a visual learner you might benefit from videos, diagrams and mind-maps to aid your learning. I also think it’s important for a tutor to be patient and understanding when students are learning new content.
My past experience
I have two years experience tutoring Physics, Maths and Chemistry to a range of ability levels, from National 5 (Scotland’s equivalent of GCSEs) up to undergraduate level.
