We are experts in the field of UKCAT tutoring and have been teaching UKCAT for the past 4 years. Here is some information about our UKCAT tutoring, critically acclaimed and helped to contribute to Medic Mind being awarded the ACW Best Medical Startup 2017/18.
What is the UKCAT?
The United Kingdom Clinical Aptitude Test is a compulsory requirement for the majority of UK medical schools. Our courses will go through in detail the different sections that make up the exam, and the changes that have been made for the 2018/19 cycle. Last Year, there was an addition of a new section, Decision Making which is incorporated into our teaching to ensure students are fully equipped with the new changes. There have also been changes to certain sections such as Verbal Reasoning, which we will go through in detail. We have designed materials that will be used exclusively in the 1 to 1 setting, many of which have been written by our co-founder who scored 900 in the UKCAT, a feat very few have achieved. Different universities look at the UKCAT with different weighting, and we will explore the importance of the examination at a few selected medical schools.
How long can I access the UKCAT course?
You have access to this UKCAT course for the full year UKCAT cycle. So for 2018 UKCAT, you get access until the last possible testing date. If you are applying for the year after, get in touch and we can grant you longer access to the UKCAT resources if needed!
Who writes and teaches this UKCAT course?
This UKCAT course has been written using years of thorough research and the expertise of several of the UK's leading UKCAT tutors. The Medic Mind founders, Mohil and Kunal, are your tutors for this course. These two have taught across the UK, Singapore and Wales at several schools and institutions.
How long does this UKCAT course take?
We have mini tutorials for each section of the UKCAT. Each UKCAT tutorial takes 5-10 minutes via video, or 3-4 minutes if you read the book version. There are hundreds of UKCAT questions to complement the course content too! To watch the whole UKCAT course you might need around 10-12 hours, but this can be shorter or longer depending on your approach!
Do you provide any questions in this course?
Our main focus is on teaching you the theory and techniques, and then helping you to apply these to questions. Our e-books contain over 600 UKCAT questions, with full explanations. These books are included in the £30 course.
Do I need anything else to succeed in the UKCAT?
In terms of theory, we will teach you everything you need. But, you need to practice more than the 600 questions we provide. Do all of the official UKCAT questions on their website, and purchase other question banks - Medify is a recommended one because you get 4000 questions for £20-40 (Medify is not affiliated with Medic Mind).
