Brunel Medical School

Overview

Brunel University is home to London’s newest medical school. The curriculum focuses on teamwork and utilised team-based learning (TBL) as the primary method of learning. In TBL a group of six students collectively solve clinical problems by applying their knowledge to real-life medical situations. The aim is to create a highly interactive and collaborative learning environment that mimics clinical practice.

In parallel with the clinical and communication skills learned on campus, from term 1 you will also learn about patient care from supervised interactions with real patients, through regular placements in General Practice clinics.

Teaching in early years is centred around team-based learning (CBL). In small groups students are encouraged to work through clinical scenarios and support their peers learning. Throughout the four years students will analyse a range of cases that cover core information. This is supplemented with lectures, clinical simulation and time on placement.
